David Ajalat
ECVC Partner at Goodwin, Co-Chair Fintech Practice
David Ajalat is a partner in Goodwin's Technology practice and Co-Chair of its Fintech practice.12 He specializes in representing startups, growth companies, venture capitalists, and growth investors throughout their lifecycle, from formation and financings to exit planning.2
Ajalat has extensive experience in various industries, including technology, digital media, life sciences, fintech, proptech, crypto and web3, software, consumer products, and entertainment, sports, and media.2 He advises companies on formation, corporate structuring, governance, capital raising, IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, and SEC reporting and compliance.2
His educational background includes a JD from the University of Southern California Law School (Order of the Coif) in 2012 and a BA from Loyola Marymount University (cum laude) in 2009.13
Prior to joining Goodwin in June 2022, Ajalat was a partner at Latham & Watkins.4 He has also worked at Cooley LLP and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP.4 Additionally, he served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at USC Law from August 2016 to June 2022, teaching a course on venture capital.45
Ajalat has been recognized in The Legal 500 US 2024 as a recommended lawyer for Fintech and was named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2020 and 2021.2
