David Agnew

David Agnew is the current President of Seneca Polytechnic, a position he has held since 2009.12 He is a prominent figure in Canadian education and public service with a diverse career spanning multiple sectors.

Career Highlights

Agnew became Seneca Polytechnic's fifth president in 2009.1 Under his leadership, the institution has strengthened its reputation both domestically and internationally, forging new partnerships in industry and higher education, developing new programs, and growing enrollment.1

Prior to his role at Seneca, Agnew held several notable positions:

Education and Early Career

Born in 1957 in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Agnew was raised in Toronto.2 He began his career as a sports reporter for the Toronto Sun at the age of 15.2 Agnew graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a gold medal in political science.2
