Dave Zuverink

Dave Zuverink is an entrepreneur and product designer based in Mountain View, California. He is best known as the founder and designer of SlimFold, a company that produces ultra-thin wallets and other everyday carry (EDC) products.12

Career and Education

Dave's educational background evolved from Physics to Mechanical Engineering, then to Industrial Design, and finally culminated in a Master's degree in Human Factors.2 This diverse educational path has equipped him with a unique skill set that combines technical knowledge with user-centered design principles.

Before founding SlimFold, Dave worked in user research and interaction design for various tech companies in the San Francisco Bay Area.2 His professional experience includes collaborations with major companies such as Adobe, Apple, AT&T, Capital One, Cisco, ESPN, IDEO, Nokia, Samsung, and others.1

SlimFold

In 2009, Dave founded SlimFold, turning his idea for an ultra-thin wallet into a successful business.1 The concept originated from his personal need for a wallet thin enough to fit comfortably in his front pocket alongside an iPhone.3 After creating over 100 prototypes and learning to sew in the process, Dave developed a wallet design that arranged cards next to each other, effectively halving the thickness.3

SlimFold has since become a profitable company and established EDC brand. The company has raised over $250,000 through Kickstarter campaigns and has shipped tens of thousands of products worldwide.14 SlimFold's product line includes wallets made from Tyvek, a durable material known for its thinness and strength.3

Innovation and Entrepreneurship

For instance, he spent two years developing the Focus Timer, a device designed to help users maintain a flow state.
