Technical Forums: manage LinkedIn "Rubyists", "Ruby on Rails", and "Plain Old C Programming" groups (founded and own POCP), and co-manage Facebook "Ruby Programming" group; managed Google+ Ruby community from 2018 until Google+ went away.

Toastmasters:
* Currently: Webmaster and 2022-2023 VP of Education, and Secretary, of local club.
* Formerly: Area Governor; Area, Division, and District Webmaster (won local service award); Founder, and all offices (President, VP of Education, VP of Membership, VP of Public Relations, Secretary, Treasurer, and Sergeant at Arms) of local clubs, including President of two clubs at once; assorted positions on "Mastering Business Communications" TV show (both on and off camera); Division Poet, and District Bard.

* Currently co-admin of local chapter (Metropolitan Washington Mensa)'s Facebook page.
* Occasionally, for Regional Gatherings (local conventions) and other special events: committee member, Webmaster (including e-commerce for registration and merchandise), and presenter on various topics (technical and other).

Designed, wrote, fixed, and enhanced games, and related infrastructure and tools, for online language learning environments, in ActionScript, using JavaScript and Ruby to put them on pages on Ruby on Rails web sites.  Mentored junior staff, by conducting Lunch 'n Learn sessions, reviewing code, etc.

Created and enhanced network performance analysis and project management software, in Perl, Ruby (including Ruby on Rails), Python, and shell script.  Created data file clearinghouse to solve distribution problems.

Senior Software Engineer

Created high-assurance cross-domain cyber-security solutions (mainly data guards) for US-, foreign- and quasi-governmental clients.  Taught classes on information security, XTS/STOP, and agile software engineering practices such as pair programming and TDD (Test Driven Development).  Founded Toastmasters club.  Nominated several times for Chairman's Award for Innovation or Transferring Best Practices; won once.

Created and enhanced static analyzers (security auditing tools) in C and Python, to find security flaws in other software.

Along with wife, help my father with caring for terminally ill mother, finding continuing-care community, getting into it, fixing up house, clearing it out, and selling it.

Created prototypes, use cases, etc. for new management console of multi-level secure IPsec (Internet Protocol Security) VPN (Virtual Private Network) based on encrypting network cards.  Created program to detect frozen external devices, email sniffer logs, and either reset the device or failover to a backup.

Cryptek API (Cryptek Secure Communications at the time)

Created and enhanced UM (Unified Messaging), other telephony, and testing software.  Discussion during research of one project led to credit in IETF RFC 3458.  Created load-testing tool simulating 1400 users per PC.

Created new GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data format, and ORM (Object-Relational Mapping) library, for SNAP object-oriented development libraries and environment.  Updated GIS functions and utilities.

Cicero Systems (Template Software at the time, Level 8 Systems in between)

Software Engineer

Added new features to financial data delivery system, and fixed bugs.  Wrote new sales contact tracking system.

Telemet America

Wrote and ran SQL queries on real-property database for Army; enhanced and documented BRAC (Base Realignments And Closures) algorithms for DoD; developed flexible SQL query writer and result parser for IRS; supervised branch tech staff.

(The company was mainly known by its initials, but if I put that, then I get spammy invitations from people with that job title.  :-P )
