With a solid educational background, Dashton holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering from Portland State University, and has also studied Physics at Montana State University-Bozeman, and Environmental Science at Southern Oregon University.

Professionally, Dashton has contributed his expertise as an Associate Engineer at Medford Water Commission, an Engineer in Training at Rogue Valley Sewer Svc, a Resident Assistant at Portland State University, an Engineering Technician at City of Medford, and in various capacities at Portland State University and Grange Co-op.
