Dary Merckens is a highly skilled Chief Technology Officer and lead developer at Gunner Technology, boasting over a decade of experience developing and engineering websites using numerous programming languages and frameworks, including Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, CSS3, HTML5, SQL, and more.
Merckens began his journey by building several non-profit organization websites in Washington, DC after graduating from Wesleyan University with a degree in Music and Computer Science. He later joined Searchles.com, where he quickly rose to be the lead developer, overseeing the application overhaul and disaster recovery architectural overhaul.
Merckens' next adventure took him to ESPN.com's community group, where he spearheaded the development of ESPN's widget center, set of APIs for sports data, and two Facebook games. Merckens later led the development of Fan Profiles, the sports network's largest software project to date, and the first to be created using open-source technologies hosted in the cloud.
Following his work at ESPN, Merckens joined Gunner Technology as CTO, overseeing the development teams for various projects, from small-scale to prominent ones. Under his watch, Gunner Technology grew to be one of the industry's leading Javascripts development shops, with a long history of successfully launched applications. Merckens' vast hardware and software programming experience, coupled with his innovation drive, help him find the best solution for Gunner Technology's clients.
