Darren Haas
Darren Haas is a seasoned technology executive, investor, and entrepreneur. He holds a BS in Communication Design and Instructional Technology from California State University-Chico. Over the years, Haas has co-founded and advised several successful startups, including Change.org, imoji, and Voltron Data. He has also held top positions at major tech firms like Apple, Amazon Web Services, and GE.
Haas' career started at TCT Technical Training, where he worked as an application engineer. Later, he served as the lead engineering and build manager at Euronet Worldwide before joining Dejima, where he was an engineering lead. He then moved to Siri Inc, where he directed the engineering team as a founding member before joining Apple as a senior engineering manager in charge of Siri/Speech. At Amazon Web Services, Haas served as the executive - enterprise technology and innovation before moving to GE, where he was the CTO and SVP engineering.
As an active supporter of various social causes, Haas has served as a board member at The Crayon Initiative and founding board member of Open19 Foundation. He's a former advisor to Cloudera, UC Berkeley's AMPLab, and RISELab program, and served as an Entrepreneur in Residence in SRI International's AI Group.
Haas' expertise includes cloud engineering, AI, machine learning, and data analytics. He's an experienced investor and advisor with a keen interest in promoting diversity and inclusion in the tech industry.
