Darren Burris

Darren Burris is a Math Teacher at YSC Academy with a diverse educational background and extensive experience in teaching and education reform.13 He grew up in Indiana and pursued degrees in sciences and philosophy, with further studies at Oxford University and Princeton Theological Seminary.1

Burris began his teaching career in Philadelphia, where he discovered his passion for education.2 He later pursued graduate work in mathematics at Harvard while teaching in Boston.1 At YSC Academy, he teaches Algebra 2 to ninth graders and serves as a math coach for lower, mid, and high school teachers.3 He has also taught Precalculus and Calculus at various times.3
