Darius J. Smith

Darius Smith is a recent graduate of Syracuse University with a degree in public affairs and information studies, and a minor in information studies. He is passionate about education, mentorship, and community development, and is devoted to helping children in underprivileged neighborhoods gain access to quality education and after-school programs. Smith has worked in a variety of roles, including data analyst at Amazon, data management specialist at AdvaCare Systems, and corps member at Chicago Public Schools. He has also served as academic enrichment specialist and career exploration teacher at Say Yes to Education and UCAN (Uhlich Children's Advantage Network). In addition, Smith founded a Shadow Day program at Syracuse University with Say Yes to Education and Syracuse City School District. The program grew each year, and aimed to inspire children to follow their dreams.
