Darin Spurgeon

Darin Spurgeon is an accomplished leader known for his adaptive and inclusive approach. He has a rich background in program and strategy design, people management, finance, business planning, grant-making, initiative development, Board engagement, stakeholder management, business development, social enterprise, and Measurement Learning and Evaluation (MLE). With in-country experience in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, U.S., and Canada, Darin has worked across various sectors including philanthropy, corporate, International Organization, NGO, and non-profit settings.

He pursued a Masters of Business Administration from INSEAD and holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Florida State University.

Darin Spurgeon has held key positions in renowned organizations, having served as Director, Strategy Planning, and Management and Chief of Staff at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He also founded Green Visions and served in various roles at the Gates Foundation, including Director of Program Advocacy and Communication, Advisor to Europe Director, Deputy Director for Strategy, Planning, and Management, and Program Manager. His contributions extend to other organizations such as Virgin Unite, World Food Programme, Save the Children, and an Austrian NGO where he held positions ranging from Business Analyst to Country Representative and Emergency Aid Officer.
