Data Management
• Collaborates across Research Institutes and departments to
collate business requirements in setting up data warehouse
for asset lifecycle management.
• Identifies and presents suitable business intelligence
solution to management through conducting market
research and comparison on the available tools.
• Coordinates efforts in setting up API from multiple
scientific equipment tracking platforms to A*STAR’s
electronic document management system (EDMS).
• Conducts reviews to identify data inconsistencies and work
with operation managers from Research Institutes to
improve data quality at the source.
Data Processing
• Mines data from multiple instrument utilisation tracking
systems using Power BI to support the data needs of A*STAR
councils.

overview of A*STAR’s asset utilisation and support decision

Data Management
•	Coordinates organisation-wide efforts in migrating to data warehouse and transitioning power users to a new data querying tool, Power BI.
•	Conducts periodic reviews to identify data inconsistencies and works with ops teams to improve data quality at the source.
•	Supports efforts in promoting data governance by ensuring all data requests follow the data management policy.
•	Engages stakeholders from policy and ops teams to understand their data needs and makes recommendations to facilitate data collection

	Employment Standards Report, jointly published by TAL and MOM

Data Analysis
•	Prepares monthly reports on corporate performance for presentation to senior management.
•	Conducts a review of the corporate risk Indicators.
•	Analyses employment claims data to understand patterns and trends and provide actionable insights for operations teams.

Capability-building
•	Provides training on data fields and data querying tool, Hyperion to new colleagues.
•	Shares knowledge of business data and useful data querying/analysis techniques with the statistics community in TAL at weekly meetings.
