Background and Education
Born on May 18, 1962, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, McDaniel moved to Hendersonville, Tennessee in 1973. She pursued her education at Volunteer State Community College and later at Middle Tennessee State University, where she began studying pottery under Lena Lucas at the Metro Parks Centennial Art Center in Nashville in 1982.12

Danielle's journey began with a pottery class that ignited her passion for clay. She quickly transitioned from student to teacher, offering classes to local children and eventually developing a comprehensive teaching program that reached hundreds of thousands of students across Middle Tennessee. By 1995, she was teaching between 500 to 800 students weekly in various schools.13
In 2010, she co-purchased Mid-South Ceramic Supply Company with Tami Archer, which allowed her to expand her educational offerings and create The Clay Lady’s Campus. This facility serves as a vibrant art community that accommodates over 500 students weekly and provides numerous workshops and events.13 The campus is currently undergoing significant expansion to enhance its facilities further.
