Danielle Palkert Hermanny, a 2003 alumna of Benilde-St. Margaret's School (BSM), was recently appointed as the new president of the school, effective May 15, 2023.14 Hermanny comes to BSM from the University of St. Thomas, where she served as the associate vice president for Equity Compliance & Title IX Coordinator and taught a course for first-year students.1
As an alum, Hermanny shares BSM's commitment to excellence in Catholic education and its charisms.1 She is excited to work with the dedicated faculty and staff to cultivate a community that fosters belonging, values academic rigor and faith exploration, and supports students in using their gifts and talents to meet the needs of the present and future world.1
Hermanny earned her B.A. degree in English and a minor in Theology from the University of Notre Dame and graduated cum laude from the University of St. Thomas School of Law.15 She previously worked in the Office of the President as General Counsel and special assistant to the president at the University of St. Thomas, and was an adjunct instructor of theology at the University of Portland, Portland, OR.1
