Danielle DuMerer

Danielle DuMerer is a highly accomplished technology professional and currently serves as the Vice President of Technology at the John G. Shedd Aquarium.

With over twenty years of experience, Danielle has a background in leading non-profit, education, and government technology teams.

Prior to her current role, she held prominent positions such as Chief Information Officer at the City of Chicago and a technology product development leader at the McGraw-Hill Companies.

Recognized for her contributions, Danielle was named one of Crain's Business Chicago's 2024 Notable Women in STEM.

In 2019, she was awarded CIO of the Year by the Executives Club of Chicago, the Society of Information Management (SIM) Chicago Chapter, and the AITP Chicago Chapter.

Additionally, Government Technology honored Danielle as a Top Doer, Dreamer, and Driver.

Danielle's expertise extends beyond her professional roles as she has lectured at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy and actively participates on the boards of SIM Chicago and Bernie's Book Bank.

She holds a Master of Library and Information Science degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Rhetoric from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
