Daniel Stedman is the CEO and Founder of Pressto, an innovative educational technology company focused on enhancing writing instruction for K-8 students. He has over 15 years of experience in the media and education sectors, having previously founded Northside Media, which includes Brooklyn Magazine and various cultural events like Northside Festival and SummerScreen, all of which were acquired by Zealot Networks.134

Stedman's journey into educational technology began with his observations of declining student newspaper programs in Brooklyn high schools. This inspired him to create Pressto, which aims to make writing engaging and accessible through AI-powered tools that provide real-time feedback to students.3 Under his leadership, Pressto has garnered attention for its focus on critical writing and media literacy, addressing the need for modern educational approaches in a rapidly changing media landscape.34

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Bates College and has studied film and philosophy at Université Paris Nanterre. Additionally, he attended startup school at Y Combinator, further enhancing his entrepreneurial skills.14 Stedman is also recognized as a published children's book author and an award-winning film director, showcasing his diverse talents and commitment to creativity in education.23
