Daniel Rea is a chartered civil engineer and qualified project manager with a diverse background in commercial, financial, environmental, and social aspects of project development and delivery.
With a career spanning various prestigious organizations such as Arup, KPMG, and Grindrod/ North West Rail, Daniel has gained extensive experience in infrastructure development, procurement, PPP, hydroelectric power, transport and logistics, construction, rural development, and agro-processing.
Daniel's career highlights include developing a greenfield 600km railway connecting Zambia to Lobito port in Angola and spearheading entrepreneurial ventures.
An adventurous spirit, Daniel has undertaken remarkable feats like canoeing 1,500km down the Zambezi River, circumnavigating the globe on an old BMW motorcycle, and running a marathon during the Egyptian revolution in 2011.
Daniel's educational background includes studying Civil Engineering at the University of Bristol, MProf at Middlesex University, and Civil Engineering & Management at McGill University.
Currently, Daniel serves as the Group Projects Director at FirstWave Group and was previously involved as the Co-Founder and Director at Hydro Electric Power Ltd/Zengamina Rural Electrification Project, focusing on mini hydro and island grid projects.
