Daniel Lanyi

Daniel Lanyi is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in foreign exchange (FX) and fixed income trading, particularly in emerging markets. He currently holds the position of Emerging Markets Fixed Income Trader at Pictet Asset Management, a role he has been in since August 2022. In this capacity, he focuses on trading FX products, including spot, swap, forward, and non-deliverable forwards (NDF), as well as local market bonds and interest rate swaps. His work also involves generating trade ideas and conducting analytics and research primarily in the CEEMEA (Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa) and LATAM (Latin America) markets.1

Before joining Pictet Asset Management, Lanyi served as an Asset and Liability Management Consultant at Redington from June 2020 to August 2022. His responsibilities included providing institutional investment advisory services to UK defined benefit pension funds and insurance clients, focusing on liability-driven investment (LDI) strategies.1

Lanyi's career spans over 15 years in various prestigious financial institutions. He has held significant roles such as Senior Emerging Markets Trader at Pictet, Investment Manager at Regiments Fund Managers in Johannesburg, and positions at major banks like Goldman Sachs, HSBC, and Royal Bank of Canada, where he specialized in emerging markets fixed income trading.1

He graduated with an MSci in Natural Sciences (Physics) from the University of Cambridge between 1998 and 2002.1 His background combines a strong academic foundation with practical experience in high-stakes trading environments.
