Daniel Haders II, Ph.D.
Daniel Haders II, Ph.D., is a prominent healthcare entrepreneur, advisor, and investor with over two decades of experience in the industry. He has held various positions ranging from research fellow to senior scientist to Co-Founder/CEO in the fields of medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and nano-drug delivery. Dr. Haders has studied Biomedical Engineering & Materials Science and Engineering at Columbia University, completed a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering & Materials Science and Engineering at Rutgers University, and was a Recognized Visiting Graduate Student in Materials Science and Engineering at The University of Oxford.
Dr. Haders is currently the Co-Founder of Model Medicines, a preclinical stage AI/ML Drug Discovery company that has built a pipeline of broad-spectrum antiviral and oncology assets in the last 12 months. He is also an Operating Partner at Sway Ventures, a US-based venture capital firm, where he helps lead Digital Health investing and portfolio oversight. Alongside this, Dr. Haders is a Faculty Member and Member of the Advisory Committee of the UCSD, Digital Health Certificate Program, and has also held positions as Managing Director, Digital Health at Nex Cubed and Founder, President & CEO at Sanar Biosciences.
Daniel’s efforts in the healthcare industry have not gone unnoticed, as the Nex Cubed Digital Health Accelerator, which he launched, has been named one of the "Top Ten Global Digital Health Accelerators" and "The Best Accelerators and Incubators for FemTech Startups". Dr. Haders is also a Board Observer at AppliedVR, a VR digital therapeutic company recently granted a breakthrough device designation and cleared by the FDA for lower chronic back pain. He has also been recognized as a former Steering Committee Member at Together.Health, a former BioMedX Oversight Committee Member at Columbia Technology Ventures, and a former advisor at MedCrypt.
Dr. Haders has impressive experience in both academic and industry roles, such as Graduate School New Brunswick, Rutgers University, and as an IGERT Fellow in Integratively Engineered Biointerfaces at the National Science Foundation. Additionally, he has served as a Research Engineer at IBM.
