As Head of Business Intelligence at Direct Line Group, I manage the delivery of insightful data to inform operational plans. Alongside this, I serve as both a Data Owner, ensuring the quality and governance of our data assets, and as the Motability Data Product Owner, driving the development of tailored data products that meet stakeholder needs and align with our business objectives.

Key Accountabilities
• Overall strategic ownership of the Data Insights & Reporting roadmap
• Accountable for the successful execution of the roadmap: delivery of value-adding outcomes into the business, and management of all resources required to achieve this, in a highly dynamic environment.
• Accountable that our output not only satisfies, but exceeds, the expectations of our customers.
• Ensuring that the prerequisites for doing excellent work are in place, ranging from high-quality input data, to the correct tools, and working with the relevant internal teams to achieve this.
• Making effective prioritisation calls when we inevitably encounter competing priorities.
• Representing the GTSM as a sitting member on the relevant bank-wide councils, ensuring that we operate according to the bank’s strategic best practices on leveraging data, and taking the opportunity to influence the bank-wide stance.

• Accountable for successful interfacing with stakeholders at both the requirements gathering phase, and the solution delivery phase.

As part of the management team, I lead the data insights team to deliver business intelligence (BI) in support of business strategy.

I am responsible for:

Working within an agile environment and using my strong analytical and problem-solving skills, I am responsible for analysis, reporting and the visualisation of different types of internal data encompassing efficiency and general performance. I play a pivotal role in the collection of data, using SQL querying skills for extracting, validating and manipulating data.

Using my commercial background, knowledge of statistics and experience using design packages, I translate business requirements into well designed management insight and work with senior stakeholders to identify and prioritise business information needs whilst ensuring that brand guidelines and best practice designs are adhered to.

I have been responsible for the implementation of a dedicated RAMP platform (Rapid Analytics and Machine Learning) enabling Citation to conduct extensive Data Science activities. Here I use SQL/PostgreSQL for querying; R & Python for data science and machine learning; Alteryx for data prep/blending/analysis and Tableau for visual analytics (MI/BI).
