Daniel Bear

Daniel Bear is a distinguished professional with a wealth of experience in policy analysis and applied research, specializing in qualitative and ethnographic work within research and academic settings. His research primarily focuses on the effects of drugs policing on police-community interactions, drugs policy implications on communities, and the integration of technology in enhancing community safety measures. With a Doctorate in Social Policy from the London School of Economics, his doctoral work scrutinized the influence of drugs policy changes and performance management indicators on the operational tactics of frontline police officers in a London borough. Currently serving as a Professor in the Faculty of Social and Community Services at Humber College in Toronto, Daniel Bear brings a unique blend of expertise and practical knowledge in areas such as policy design and implementation, police practices, criminal justice policy, social policy research methods, qualitative and ethnographic analyses, policy evaluation, penal theory and practice, cannabis policy, and harm reduction.
