Dana Martens, a New York-based designer, creative technologist, maker, and educator, is making waves in the world of social impact entrepreneurship through emerging technologies. With a Masters in Fine Arts in Design and Technology from Parsons School of Design under their belt, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Dana brings a unique perspective to the table. They've had an impressive career so far, working as a UX Designer and Manager at Teach for America, an Adjunct Professor at Parsons School of Design, and various fellowships, including the NBCUniversal Blockchain Prototyping Fellowship at NYC Media Lab and a Summer 2017 fellowship at IDEO CoLab. They're also a board member of The Design Futures Initiative, where they serve as the Communications and Special Programming Director. Dana's expertise includes UX research and design, user testing, iterative prototyping, agile methodology, project management, creative coding, internet of things and sensor development, policy analysis, training/teaching, partnership development, fundraising, web technologies, app design, and public speaking. Their interests span from art to science fiction to policy, and they're passionate about imagining more equitable and sustainable futures. Dana's philosophy is that the future is already here, and our job is to distribute it.
