    Dan Ramsey has had an extensive career which began in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1972. He enlisted initially and was stationed at the Navy Communications Station in Kodiak, AK. Dan was later commissioned as Ensign in June 1969, after which he graduated from the Supply Corps Officer School in March 1970. He then served as the Supply Officer aboard the USS William M. Wood (DD-715) before being released from active duty in January 1972. Dan went on to retire as Captain in the Navy Reserves in June 1993.

    Following his military service, Dan transitioned to becoming the Owner and Manager of Mollett-Hunter, Inc., an independent insurance agency located in Chickasha, OK. He held this position from 1972 to 1994. In 1994, Dan ventured into politics and served in the Oklahoma State House of Representatives until 1998. Subsequently, from 1998 to 2014, he took on the role of President and CEO of the Independent Insurance Agents of Oklahoma. Dan officially retired in September 2014 but continued his involvement in the insurance industry by working as a part-time Agency Mentor at the Oklahoma Agents' Alliance in Oklahoma City starting from October 2014.
