Dan Kulmala is an accomplished educator and leader with a strong passion for online and blended learning, international education, performance-based instructional design, integrative curriculum creation, and Global English.
With a background in English, psychology, and educational leadership, Dan has excelled in various roles within academia.
He holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Kansas and has pursued studies in psychology and English at The University of Akron.
Throughout his career, Dan has held key positions such as the Associate Vice Chancellor of Global Engagement at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
His experience includes serving as the Head of Strategic Partnerships, North America at AKADASIA, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs at the American University of Phnom Penh, and Executive Dean of Academic Affairs, Asia Operations at Fort Hays State University.
Dan has also been actively involved in academia as a Professor of English, Chair of the Department of Modern Languages, and Assistant Dean of the Graduate School.
He has contributed significantly to curriculum development, including the successful implementation of programs like the BA in Global English, MLS in Social Media Networking, and MLS in e-Learning Professional Programs.
Dan's expertise has been recognized through awards such as the Teagle Foundation Teaching and Learning Scholarship.
He has also served on the Advisory Board for SXSWedu and as an Advisory Council Member for WORLD CONNECTIONS FOUNDATION.
