Lead Software Engineer at DreamHost

Lead architect of the export to WordPress feature for DreamHost's Remixer website builder. Sites exported from Remixer currently account for about 5% of daily new WP installations at DreamHost.
Built system for deploying DreamHost WP Website Builder automatically upon customer signup. The installer is designed to be non-blocking and scalable.
Replaced customer facing legacy Perl code with Typescript Node microservices. This project was one of the first in the company to deal with updating legacy code base while maintaining existing functionality.
Explored using natural language processing on customer support messaging. Attempted to pair sentiment analysis and classification to determine what types of issues cause customer churn.

DreamHost

Lead Software Engineer

Full stack developer on the DreamHost Remixer (web site builder) project. I joined this team at the beginning of the project. I began doing prototyping and development using Javascript (Reactjs/Flux/Node), Python (Pyramid/Cornice/Alembic/SqlAlchemy) and MySQL. We're using Docker containers with Kubernetes implementing a micro-services style architecture. I implemented an ELK stack for logging our app's performance. Have been responsible for integrating our app with several different social media API including Facebook and YouTube. I also led the development of a major upgrade on our backend to allow for non-blocking asynchronous publishing using Celery workers and RabbitMQ. Architected a ground up rebuild of the image editor front-end to provide improved UX.
