Dan Hofrenning

Dan Hofrenning is a highly accomplished individual with a diverse educational background in Political Science, Economics, and Public Policy.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science & Economics from Concordia College, a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Political Science and Government from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, and an A.M. in Public Policy from Duke University.

Dan has held various key positions at St. Olaf College, including Chair of the Department of Environmental Studies, Professor of Political Science, Martin E. Marty Chair for Religion and the Academy, Founding Director of the Institute for Freedom & Community, Interim Director of Academic Civic Engagement, Associate Dean of the Social Sciences, Interim Director of the Center for Innovation and the Liberal Arts, and Chair of the Department of Political Science.

His extensive experience in academia and leadership roles highlights his expertise in both environmental studies and political science.
