Dan Avida

Dan Avida is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Engageli, a company focused on transforming online education through innovative, AI-powered tools. Engageli aims to enhance active engagement and collaboration in virtual learning environments. The platform was launched in October 2020, co-founded by Avida, his wife Daphne Koller, a Stanford professor and co-founder of Coursera, and Serge Plotkin, a Stanford Professor Emeritus.12

Professional Background

Before founding Engageli, Avida accumulated over three decades of experience in the technology sector. He played pivotal roles in scaling several companies, achieving significant revenues and valuations. Notably, he co-founded Decru, which was acquired for $272.5 million, and served as Chairman and CEO of EFI, where he led the development of its flagship product and oversaw a market capitalization exceeding $3 billion.13 Additionally, he was a General Partner at Opus Capital, where he invested in early-stage technology companies.14

Education

Avida holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, graduating summa cum laude from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.13
