Oliver Ellingham

Oliver Ellingham is a dedicated Mycologist, Plant Pathologist, Educator, and life long learner.

He has been involved in community citizen science projects such as the Lost and Found Fungi Project at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and the Powdery Mildew Survey with the Royal Horticultural Society.

Currently, Oliver is a secondary school teacher with a passion for outdoor education and foraging.

His interests encompass plant pathology, fungal taxonomy, ethnomycology, fungal biotechnology, agricultural sustainability, science outreach, communication, and policy.

Oliver has a diverse background, having worked in various roles including at the Plantscape Group Ltd, the John Innes Centre in Norwich, and volunteering on farms globally which has enriched his understanding of agriculture, ecotourism, and science communication.

Education-wise, he holds a PGCE in Secondary Science from Canterbury Christ Church University, a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Taxonomy and Plant Pathology from the University of Reading, and a Zoology (Hons) degree from the University of Bristol, as well as A Levels in Biology, Geography, and Maths from Norwich School.
