Locky Smith is a highly skilled senior controls systems engineer with experience in various industries such as power, process, and water. He has had significant experience with thermal and renewable generation including sub- and super-critical coal-fired plant, open- and closed-cycle gas turbines, and hydro generation. Locky also has extensive experience in functional safety systems, alarm management, and generator protection and excitation systems. He has worked in a range of roles including concept, detailed design, functional design, and owner’s engineer. He has developed excellent problem-solving skills, benefiting from many site-based roles around Australia. Locky holds a Master's degree in Engineering Science, Power Generation, and is a Chartered Professional Engineer - Electrical. He has professional accreditation as a Function Safety Engineer (TUV Rheinland, SIS) and is a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland. Locky is currently holding a position as an Engineering Manager - Systems & Automation at WSP in Australia & New Zealand.
