Chris Temple is an accomplished director and producer of award-winning documentaries that highlight pressing global issues. With a focus on poverty alleviation and refugee support, his films have premiered at prestigious festivals such as Tribeca, Full Frame, and AFI Docs and been distributed internationally by leading platforms like Netflix, Amazon, and HBO. Some of his notable works include Five Years North, Living on One Dollar, and Salam Neighbor. Additionally, his films have helped raise more than $91 million to support various causes and endeavors.

Chris honed his skills in International Relations, specifically Economic Development, during his studies at Claremont McKenna College and Universidad de Sevilla. After graduation, he went on to work at marketing and communications and microfinance organizations such as Global Health Strategies, iShop4Microfinance, and Whole Planet Foundation. Chris also founded MFI Connect, where he directed operations focusing on microfinance partnerships. At Grameen America, Inc., he worked as an intern and honed his skills in sales, while at West Marine, he was a sales associate and assistant manager.

As a co-founder and director of Optimist, Chris has won several awards, including Shorty, ADDY, Webby, and AVA Digital Awards. His work continues to be featured globally and recognized internationally, and he was recently named as one of the top 100 visionary leaders of 2015 by YPO's Real Leaders Magazine.
