Carey Knecht is an experienced professional who has dedicated her career to helping California meet its air quality and climate goals. With over a decade of experience in the non-profit and public sectors, Carey has a strong background in advancing public policy to make communities more healthy, equitable, economically thriving, and sustainable. She holds an MCP degree in City & Regional Planning from the University of California, Berkeley, and a bachelor's degree in Biology (Environmental) from Yale University.
Currently, Carey serves as an Air Resources Supervisor at the California Air Resources Board, where her main role is to support the success of California Climate Investments. Her previous experience includes working as an Air Pollution Specialist at the California Air Resources Board, Director, and Associate Director at ClimatePlan, Board Member at Golden Gate Audubon Society, Policy Director at Greenbelt Alliance, and Policy Research Director at Greenbelt Alliance.
Carey's area of expertise includes research, technical analysis, consensus building, and dialogue at the state, regional, and local level. Her professional interests include air quality, climate change, public policy, and sustainable development.
