Learning And Development Specialist

This was a 6-week contract role to help during the holiday season. Raising awareness about the organizations' cause to erase homelessness for those suffering from extreme mental health and addiction. We work provide housing for those who are most difficult to house, and with funding by City of Toronto we have supported 700 residents in housing developments projects and over 300 people in shelters.I have connected with donors, sponsors and partners throughout the month of November to prepare for the holiday campaign. From direct mail, social media and email, we exceeded our target fundraising goal of $2k and raised over $17k within four days of the campaign launch, which is a 5000% increase from the year prior.

Fundraising and Development

Led airline celebrations, community engagements and staff events for Toronto Pearson. Worked with vendors, airline partners, security and airport operations teams to maintain order and direction in following guidelines that upheld the regulatory standards and met event objectives.I have worked with Ministry offices, government officials, board members, and the community, and communicated with confidence to manage expectations. Working on media announcements has allowed me to learn about public protocol within airport operations.I practiced sharing and distributing knowledge to teams I worked with to empower them to own their tasks and meet timelines with little direction. I am most proud of leading the Take Your Kids to Work event where I delivered a 150 student event by working with our Skyservices partners, and multiple stakeholders to organize an interactive 3 hour experience for students within two months. I was nominated for the Reach-for-the-Stars program for going-above-and-beyond in demonstrating leadership, client service and innovation.

Greater Toronto Airports Authority

Corporate Programs and Events Specialist

Responsible for delivering and executing national training programs for in-person and virtual learning. Used various technologies such as WebEx and Google to produce sessions for 10-500 participants, including setting up AV equipment, producing presentations for facilitation and monitoring Q&A panels for national audiences.Appointed as the Lead Specialist to redesign a national sales learning program within six months by consulting with subject-matter-experts and UK global territories to create a consistent learning experience. I presented recommendations to my Director to consolidate topics to allow for objectives to be overlapped for better learning. This reduced the overall program from nine in-person modules to four modules, and developed three digital modules into 30 minute recorded webinars for on-the-go-learning. The result improved registration by 75% within one month of re-launch and an improved interest in staff participating in leading facilitation of sessions.

PwC Canada

Senior Associate, Learning and Development

Responsible for allocating client work for resources in 6 offices in Western Canada using Enterprise Software Management tools. This included coordinating conflicts with team leads and resource managers to ensure client needs were met. One of my key successes was leading a collaborative effort with CPA and HR teams to compile policy information, education leave and regulatory standards for each province into a process document. This removed any ambiguity between regions and provinces, and improved resourcing accuracy.Additionally, I was responsible to staff inventory count requests for Canada and global territories such as Brazil, Mexico, USA, Ireland and the UK, working with contacts in each location to understand the priorities of the request and qualifications needed to support the inventory request.

Resource Management Coordinator

Reviewed and processed over 600 CPA membership qualification applications into provincial bodies across Canada. Using the knowledge I developed through understanding legislative requirements and practices, I was able to revise the review process and improve review time by 65%.
