Rahul Kalaskar is a highly experienced and skilled software developer who has worked with leading tech companies. He has developed solutions for various distributed systems problems, especially in the e-commerce and Amazon web services space. Rahul was a founding member of Amazon Redshift Service, where he worked on all aspects of the service from the initial stages until launch. He also worked on extensive API designs, control plane architecture, database monitoring, recovery systems, data ingestion systems, and security. At Amazon S3, he led his team of software engineers to deliver key customer-facing features such as S3 Event Notifications, Server-Side Encryption with Amazon S3 key management (SSE-S3).

Rahul has a passion for building and operating mission-critical distributed applications at scale. He has a keen interest in big data and high-volume systems, which can be seen in his work as an Engineering Manager at Google. Currently, he is building a new team in AWS Elasticsearch Services in Bangalore, India.

Rahul holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Michigan State University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Mysore.
