Vanessa Wruble is a media producer, political organizer and entrepreneur. She co-founded the largest media company in Africa, Okayafrica, which offers a forward-thinking and nuanced view of African culture. Besides her work in media, Wruble has served as a Communication Consultant for the United Nations, authored travel guides for Lonely Planet and worked as a Correspondent for Al Gore's Current TV. She is a co-founder and former Director of the Women's March on Washington, where she served as Head of Campaign Operations. She graduated from Williams College with a Bachelor's degree in Writing, Film and Psychology, and from The New School for Social Research with a Master's degree in Psychology. From New York University, she earned a Master's degree in Interactive Media. Wruble is passionate about social issues, and her work focuses on the empowerment of women, the fight against structural patriarchy, and advocacy for all marginalized people.
