Anju Patwardhan is a globally experienced board director, banker, Fintech VC, and academic. With over two decades of banking experience, she has held positions like Global Chief Innovation Officer, Chief Risk Officer, and Chief Operating Officer at Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) and Citibank. Patwardhan is an alumnus of IIT Delhi and IIM Bangalore and was a Fulbright Fellow & Visiting Scholar at Stanford. In 2016, she moved from Singapore to San Francisco initially as a Fulbright Fellow at Stanford University and later as a Fintech venture investor. She managed a Fintech VC Fund of $500 million and has invested in over 35 companies in the US and the UK since 2016. She currently serves as NED on boards of regulated entities like Gulf International Bank, Saudi Arabia, Upgrade Inc., USA, and Curve Inc., UK. Patwardhan is also a Digital advisor to the board of directors of OCBC Bank, Singapore; and a member of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Fintech Steering Committee since 2015. She has been a speaker at the United Nations, G20 SME Forum, IMF, WEF, ADB, Milken Conference, SF Fed, among others. Patwardhan is recognized globally for her Fintech expertise and is a Fintech Industry expert at UC Berkeley (SCET). She splits her time between Singapore and San Francisco.
