With extensive experience representing a variety of clients in the consumer electronics, software, biotechnology, textiles, telecommunications, and other cutting-edge industries, John comes to the firm having previously served as a Partner at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan and as Assistant General Counsel of IP for Samsung Electronics in Seoul, Korea. John is well-versed in patent licensing, has a wealth of experience negotiating agreements in the semiconductor, software, and consumer electronics sectors, and has represented clients before tribunals and competition authorities worldwide. John has a JD and served as Federal Circuit Editor at American University's Washington College of Law, as well as a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University. His unique background combining law firm experience with in-house counsel expertise allows him to provide practical, competitive legal advice to his clients.
