Lisa A Hertzog is a highly educated and experienced educator who has served the NYC Department of Education in various executive positions, including as the Executive Director of Teacher Development and Effectiveness. Hertzog holds a Doctor of Education in Curriculum & Teaching, Urban and Multicultural Education from Teachers College of Columbia University, a Master of Arts in Education from Claremont Graduate University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English, American Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.
In her previous roles at the NYC Department of Education, Hertzog was responsible for academic support, teacher development, and teacher effectiveness. She has also taught at the elementary school level as a General Education and Dual Language (Spanish/English) teacher for the NYC Department of Education and as a Structured English Immersion Teacher for the Mountain View School District. In addition, Hertzog has held teaching positions at Teachers College, Columbia University, and the Pasadena Unified School District.
