Edward Thornton is an accomplished early career researcher with a wealth of expertise in the history of European philosophy. After earning his Bachelor's degree in Philosophy with first-class honors from the University of Cambridge, he went on to complete a Master's degree in Cultural and Critical Studies with distinction at Birkbeck College, University of London. He then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Philosophy at Royal Holloway, University of London, where he also served as a Teaching Fellow before moving on to a Lecturer position at the University of Aberdeen.

Edward is well-versed in exploring the various ways in which 20th-century French philosophy responded to some of the central problems of the philosophical canon. He has published extensively in reputable journals such as The Southern Journal of Philosophy, Hypatia: A Journal of Feminist Philosophy, and Deleuze and Guattari Studies. He also has extensive experience teaching undergraduate philosophy modules, supervising dissertations, and providing specialist post-graduate training on topics related to his research.

Prior to his academic career, Edward worked as a PR & Marketing Executive at Cancer Research UK and as a Public Relations Intern at Macmillan Cancer Support. He also worked as a Graduate Trainee at Wellcome Trust and as a Trainee Journalist at Press Association.
