Calibre One provides IT and infrastructure support for small and mid-sized Businesses principally through South Australia but with a number of branch offices around Australia. Typical customer profiles are from 5 PCs and Servers to sites with several hundred client PCs and substantial server infrastructure.

Calibre One has been an early adopter of both Virtualisation and Cloud based technologies and now has substantial expertise in all aspects of these technologies.

Calibre One is one of South Australia’s largest private IT support organisations.

Calibre One also provides outsourced IT services and maintenance services for a range of other companies and warranty providers.

A cluster of schools in the Norther suburbs formed the Gawler Region Employment, Education and Training group (GREET), with the aim of initiating a Vocational Education and Training (VET) program in Schools. Vet programs establish partnerships with Registered Training Organisations and TAFE to provide students with up-to-date and nationally accredited training in vocational areas. Essentially this will mean that students will receive TAFE credit for some of their studies in the Senior School. Students were also provided with the opportunity to participate in a structured work placement where an employer agrees to provide some on-the-job training and this is linked into their school studies as well. The employer benefits because they are able to pass on knowledge and skills in the context of their work situation and therefore gain a pool of skilled prospective employees, if and when the need arises.

Joined the RAAF in Oct 1975 as an Electronics Technician.  Served in a range of squadrons and specialist areas as an electronics technician.   I gained experience at numerous bases for both Ground and Airborne systems in Australia and on overseas deployments.  Gained substantial experience in supervision and management of specialist teams.  Later, with increasing rank, gathered significant experience and training associated with team leadership and personnel management.

Early on I was selected for participation in a range of complex electronics projects and weapon systems in particular surveillance and IT systems.  During this period I was also seconded to a range of Project Offices located onsite at various contractor facilities.

I then undertook advanced electronics training and became a Systems Engineer - a selected subgroup of highly trained engineers selected to work on advanced complex integrated systems covering multi technical disciplines.

I applied for and gained my Commission as an Officer in 1987 and subsequently transferred to the ELECTR category and was responsible for electronics engineering projects.  Most of my commissioned career was then spent working in or managing the technical aspects of various specialist projects.  The last ten years were spent working on several Major capital projects of National Significance.
