Leading a team of distributed energy experts to develop of a competitive business unit in  National Grid Ventures, the unregulated arm of National Grid

National Grid

Leading a groundbreaking partnership between Sunrun Inc and National Grid Ventures, investing $110 million and launching a joint venture to develop grid services from aggregated rooftop solar and storage in retail and wholesale markets.

Directly manage a team of technical experts to spearhead business development and analysis.

Spearheaded the first-ever participation of residential assets in US wholesale markets, winning 20MW for Sunrun with ISO-NE.

Negotiated and implemented $8M investment in grid services, which is the first deal of this kind. Collaborate with Sunrun to generate pipeline of grid services deals.

Prior - FERC Jurisdiction Strategy & Performance:

Collaborate with National Grid executives to lead strategy, growth priorities, and monitor performance for the FERC regulated businesses including electric transmission, natural gas, and electric generation assets, representing a ratebase of over $2 billion.

Strategic Partnerships, Principal Manager

EnerNOC is a leading developer of energy intelligence software and demand response for clients including utilities and ISOs.

Functional mission:
Drive cultural change and process improvement with goal of streamlining operations, implementing long term solutions, and promoting employee engagement.

o	Directly supervised 15 employees in supply chain and utility operations, responsible for vendor management and coordination with utility meter shops for data acquisition.
o	Boosted throughput of utility operations by 30% and reduced backlog by 70% through standardizing processes, leveraging automation, launching collaborations across departments, and optimizing team structure by developing rising leaders, hiring strong talent, and removing underperformers.
o	Integrated acquired entity in Brazil with historic utility bill management product, resulting in improved customer experience for 5,500 accounts and $250k in annual savings.

EnerNOC

Senior Operations Manager

ISO and utility facing role, working on demand response program across ENERNOC’s departments.
- Managed team of analysts to optimize portfolio of over $100 million in annual revenue for most complex demand response markets: New England, Ontario, New York state, and city of Portland.
- Secured option value of $15 million in revenue in ISO-NE, resulting in $6 million realized in auction for 1st year revenue with potential for growth in subsequent years.
- Devised and executed divesture of ISO-NE portfolio, resulting in over $500 million in profit.
- Forged collaborations with ISO-NE clients to overhaul demand response market design.
- Negotiated a multifaceted deal worth over $5 million in direct profit with large industrial client.
- Launched program with Portland utility, which won their Program of the Year award.
- Spearheaded federal self-reports, now highlighted by FERC as illustrative examples.

Energy Markets Region Lead

- Co-authored cover story in Oct 2011 issue of InterPV Magazine, distributed to all attendees at global conference.

- Executed grant applications to National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) resulting in grant award of over $3 million.

- Engaged with solar module and installation partners for major “Smart Module” product launch.

- Designed overhaul of company website’s resource center to improve usability, visualization, and functionality.

Lead Technical Marketing Associate

- Directly managed 20 employees, shared supervision of 90 employees, and managed labor utilization across seven departments.
- Launched transition of back-up warehouse for central stock, resulting in $100K of annual savings.
