Florence Ngala is a rising star in the photography world, based in New York. Born and raised in Harlem, Ngala has always been passionate about creativity and culture, which reflects on her work as a photographer. Her love for authentic image-making and photojournalism has made her a name to watch in the industry. Ngala has a Bachelor's degree in Advertising/Public Relations and Digital Design and has studied at the State University of New York at Albany.

Ngala is best known for her intimate portraits of musicians such as Gucci Mane and Cardi B. She also has an intuitive eye for capturing beauty in everyday settings, as evidenced in her insightful reportage on black figure skaters in "When I skate it just feels free," a piece she completed for The New York Times in 2019. Her first assignment with the publication became the cover feature in the same issue.

Apart from working with The New York Times, Ngala has worked for major brands such as Nike, Reebok, Facebook, WWD and Vogue.com. She has previously worked as an Idea Haver at 19th & Park Inc., a Creative Consultant, an Art Direction Intern at Droga5 and Venables Bell and Partners respectively, a Special Events Intern at The New York Public Library, Stylist at Reformation, Sales Associate at TOPSHOP TOPMAN, and as a Photographer and Receptionist at her own brand.
