Nate Heintzman
Nate Heintzman is a renowned expert in diabetes technology, informatics, and genomics/epigenetics research. He has an impressive track record in leading teams to design and implement innovative solutions to complex problems across diverse areas, from high-throughput applications in cancer research to personalized diabetes care. He completed his Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine and has since held numerous positions in industry, academia, and non-profit organizations. He is the founding director of the Diabetes Informatics & Analytics Lab (DIAL) at UCSD, where he applied cutting-edge informatics and analytics strategies to translate big diabetes data into actionable insights. Currently, he serves as the Director of Data Science at Dexcom, where he applies his expertise to develop diabetes care solutions that meet patients' changing needs. He is also a former Qualcomm Tricorder XPRIZE Judge at XPRIZE and has served in various leadership roles in organizations such as Insulindependence, Inc., NanoCellect Biomedical, and ScholarNexus Consulting Group, LLC.
