James Demarais is an experienced lawyer and real estate broker with an extensive legal background in securities, business, commercial and residential real estate, land use, condemnation, and more. His practice involves both transactional and litigation matters in both federal and state courts, including adversary proceedings in bankruptcy, trust and probate litigation, and conservatorships. He is also well-versed in estate planning, business transactions, and negotiating and drafting business agreements.

A graduate of the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, Demarais also holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of California, Irvine. He has held a variety of legal positions throughout his career, including Deputy City Attorney at Jones & Mayer and Litigation Associate at Nossaman, Guthner, Knox & Elliott, LLP. He has also served as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Stephen Reinhardt at the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
