Dimitris Messinis, PhD, MBA is a multi-talented professional with a diverse background in research, industry, non-profit, and leadership positions. He holds a diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, as well as a PhD in Systems Biology. Currently a postdoctoral fellow at Philip Morris International R&D, Messinis has also worked at the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) in Washington DC, developing computational models to predict drug-induced cardiotoxicity. He was selected by EIT Health to be part of a group of innovators tasked with solving healthcare challenges in partnership with GE Healthcare. In 2012, he founded Mindspace, a non-profit organization seeking to encourage entrepreneurship among students. The U.S. Department of State recognized his work in this area and invited him to participate in their prestigious IVLP international exchange program. He also spent two years as the first employee of biotech startup Protavio.
