Dorota Shortell is the passionate CEO of Simplexity Product Development, Inc., with extensive experience in company leadership, strategic partnerships, public speaking, product development, project management, cost reduction, design for manufacturing, mechanical design, and 3D CAD design. Dorota studied mechanical engineering at Loyola Marymount University and went on to study at Stanford University, where she obtained an MS in Mechanical Engineering and completed non-degree coursework. She began her professional engineering career as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Synerdyne Corporation and later held senior mechanical engineering roles in companies such as Product Design Group, PDG Hightower, Flextronics, and PDG Oncore, where she served as Sr. Mechanical Engineer and eventually, Director of the Vancouver, WA Office. She is also a former Lecturer at Loyola Marymount University. Dorota is passionate about seeing sound engineering and manufacturing practices applied to bringing new products and machines to market. Her expertise in low-cost, high-precision motion control and mechatronic product development has made Simplexity a trusted development partner to some of the world's most advanced technology companies such as HP, Microsoft, and Illumina.
