John Shea is a seasoned technology executive with over 25 years of experience in SaaS, mobile, managed services, on-premise software and hardware. With 12 years of experience in the Silicon Valley, he has played a crucial role in defining, building, launching, marketing and selling more than 70 consumer and B2B products, yielding average revenue growth in excess of 100% annually. He has been responsible for key aspects of an IPO and numerous company sales/mergers generating billions in investor returns. His expertise extends to product management, marketing, corporate strategy, M&A and inside sales.
John has proven success with successful transactions and exits including RBmedia, Datatel, Rivermine, and Nuance. He was the CMO & SVP Products at Datatel, which went on to become Ellucian after a multi-billion dollar merger with SunGard. He also held the role of CMO & Head of Products at Rivermine, which was later acquired by IBM Emptoris, and VP Product Management, Marketing & Corporate Strategy at Nuance, known for its IPO and peak market capitalization of $5 billion.
John has studied MBA at Northwestern University and has been on an MBA exchange program at London Business School. He holds a degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
