Mehrdad Borna is a seasoned sustainable architecture and environmental design expert with over 15 years of experience in professional practice and higher education. He obtained a PhD in Architecture and a certificate of Special Study, Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy at the University of Westminster, an MA in Architecture: Sustainability and Design, and a BA in Interior Architecture, Distinction, from the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology. Mehrdad's expertise in sustainable architecture and environmental design was honed while residing in London, where he acquired a comprehensive understanding of current sustainable development issues and potential resolutions.

Mehrdad is an active member of various organizations such as the Independent Air Quality Consultant Freelance, British Institute of Interior Design, IAQM, IES and is a Scientific Committee Member of PLEA (Passive Low Energy Architecture). Additionally, he has held various positions such as Design Studio Leader and Module Leader at the University of Westminster, Business Development Associate at ATHE and Senior Lecturer - Course leader, University Lecturer, and Assistant Lecturer at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, where he was also an Academic Coordinator.

Mehrdad's work has been featured in various conferences, symposia, and publications, including the London Build Sustainability Summit, the GermanU15, London Festival of Architecture, the International Scientific Conference on Technologies, UNESCO, the Global Climate Change Conference in Turkey, and the Conference on Disaster Resilience in Sri Lanka. His doctoral studies from the University of Westminster primarily focus on the impact of dense urban form on microclimate and the concentration of air pollution at pedestrian level, suggesting the most favorable urban form capable of mitigating air pollution concentration in urban areas and further reducing its adverse impacts on human health.
