Michael Carlin is an accomplished professional in the higher education IT community with over 25 years of experience. He holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems Cross Cultural E-Commerce, an M.S. in Information Systems, and a B.S. in Biological Sciences, all from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
Dr. Carlin has held various IT leadership roles, including Vice Chancellor for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer at UNC Charlotte, Associate Vice President & Deputy CIO, Assistant Vice President of IT, and Director of Infrastructure and Support, all at University of Maryland Baltimore County.
He has a passion for learning and professional growth, which he achieves through his participation in conferences, collaboration with peers, and engagement in professional development sessions. Dr. Carlin is committed to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment, where creative solutions are encouraged, and diversity is valued. He operates under the belief that success is never final, and there is always room for improvement. He approaches challenges as learning opportunities and encourages others to do the same.
