Akshay Bhamidipati is a highly accomplished medical student at Vanderbilt University with a strong background in molecular biology and research. Graduating from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor's degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology, he went on to complete a Master of Science in Molecular Biology at Johns Hopkins University, a Biochemistry program at the University of Oxford, and the Doctor of Medicine program at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
Akshay's professional experience includes founding a nonprofit called Institute CMM, aimed at combating medical misinformation during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also ran as the youngest-ever candidate for Virginia House of Delegates, focusing on healthcare access and teen suicide prevention. He has worked as a teaching assistant at Johns Hopkins University, a research technician at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and a senator in the Johns Hopkins Student Government Association. As a research assistant in surgery at Richmond University Medical Center and in translational medicine at Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, he has contributed to researching epigenetic agents to improve current chemotherapy methods.
