Amanda Gefter

Amanda Gefter is an accomplished science writer and author with a specialization in fundamental physics and cosmology. She has a background as a consultant for New Scientist magazine and served as the Books & Arts editor at the publication for six years. Amanda was a distinguished Knight Science Journalism Fellow at MIT during 2012-13. Her debut book, 'Trespassing on Einstein's Lawn,' was published by Random House in 2014, and she is currently working on her second book. Beyond her interest in physics and cosmology, Amanda is intrigued by cognitive science and philosophy of mind, with a deep appreciation for literature and modern art.

Amanda's writing has been showcased in reputable publications such as the New York Times, Nautilus, Nature, Quanta, The Atlantic, and more. She has also contributed to notable books like 'This Idea is Brilliant,' 'What Should We Be Worried About?,' and 'This Will Make You Smarter,' all edited by John Brockman. Moreover, Amanda was formerly the co-director of NeuWrite Boston, a collaborative platform for scientists and writers, alongside computer scientist Jean Yang.
