Elizabeth Shah is a Partner at Bookoff McAndrews, PLLC, where she manages patent portfolios for both start-ups and experienced companies. With extensive involvement in patent acquisitions, Elizabeth provides strategic counsel throughout the process. She has a strong background in securing freedom-to-operate, assessing competitive patent landscapes and providing patentability, validity, non-infringement, and clearance opinions.

Elizabeth has expertise in developing comprehensive patent procurement strategies for clients and also evaluates patent portfolios for mergers, acquisitions or investment opportunities, including licensing. She has worked for two medical device start-up firms, which provides her a unique perspective on how intellectual property and business matters co-relate.

Elizabeth attended Georgetown University Law Center to study JD in Patent Law and studied BS in Biology, Biomedical Engineering from Tufts University. She is a former Associate at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP and the former Intellectual Property Manager at Brainscope Company Inc. She was a summer Associate at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP and formerly served as the Business Development Associate at AmniSure International LLC.
